We respect the sanctity of your worship and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and transparency.

Noor is designed to function primarily as an offline, client-side utility. We collect the minimum amount of data required to provide essential Islamic services:

3. Precise Location Data Usage (Strict Purpose Limitation)

In full compliance with Google Play Developer Policies and Apple App Store Review Guidelines (5.1.1):

• Sole Purpose: We request access to your device's geographical location (Latitude and Longitude) exclusively to calculate accurate astronomical prayer times and to align the 3D Qibla Compass with the coordinates of the Kaaba in Makkah (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E).
• No Background Location Tracking: Noor does NOT track, log, or record your location in the background when the app is closed.
• No Location Sharing or Monetization: Your geographical coordinates are never shared with advertising networks, third-party analytics providers, or data brokers.
• User Control: You can revoke location access at any time through your device's system settings. If revoked, you can still read the Holy Quran, count Tasbih, and recite Azkar offline.

4. Device Permissions Requested

To deliver full functionality, the App may request the following system permissions:

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION (Android / iOS): To calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla compass alignment.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+ / iOS): To display timely prayer and Athan notifications. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & USE_EXACT_ALARM (Android 12+): Required so that the 5 daily prayer alarms trigger precisely at the scheduled minute, even when the device is locked or in battery Doze mode.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED (Android): Allows the App to restore your scheduled prayer alarms after your device is restarted.
• WAKE_LOCK & VIBRATE: Provides gentle haptic feedback during digital Tasbih counting and wakes the audio system briefly to sound the Athan.

5. Third-Party Services and APIs

The App connects to external endpoints only to retrieve authentic public Islamic content:

• Aladhan API: To fetch accurate prayer time calculation formulas based on selected conventions (e.g., Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura, Egyptian Authority).
• Islamic Network CDN: To stream high-quality MP3 audio recitations of the Holy Quran by authentic Qaris.
• Official Live Streams: To provide 24/7 live video feeds from the Holy Mosques in Makkah (Masjid al-Haram) and Madinah (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi).

These third-party servers receive standard HTTP request headers (such as IP address) necessary for internet communication, but receive no personal user profiles from Noor.

6. Data Storage, Security & Retention

• Local Device Storage: All user data (such as Quran bookmarks, custom Tasbih counts, Dua favorites, and selected reciters) is saved locally in your device's secure SQLite database and local preferences.
• No Remote Cloud Accounts: We do not operate user accounts or cloud servers storing your personal data. Deleting or uninstalling the app permanently removes all local data from your device.
• Encryption in Transit: Any outgoing API or audio streaming requests use secure HTTPS/TLS encryption.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Family Policy Compliance)

Noor is designed for users of all ages, including families and children learning to read the Holy Quran and practice daily prayers. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy:

• We do not knowingly collect, store, or solicit personal identification information from children under the age of 13.
• The app contains no behavioral advertising, social media feeds, or unfiltered user-generated content.
